What are the directions to the retreat? Location & Directions The Riverside Church (120th Street and 490 Riverside Drive) Public Transportation & Parking Subway: Take the 1 Train to 116th Street. Walk north along Broadway to 120th Street, turn left and walk one block to Claremont Avenue, then turn right. The Claremont Avenue entrance will be on your left. Bus: Take the M-104, M-4, or M-5 bus to 120th or 122nd Street. Parking: The Claremont Avenue Garage is operated by Rapid Park Inc., and is accessed from 120th Street between Riverside Drive and Claremont Avenue. Normal hours of operation are daily from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. There is a fee for parking, with reduced rates available for most worship services. You will have to come to the retreat to find out. :) When is the poster session? There is one poster session this year. It is from 3:50pm - 5:30pm Please note that there is NO judging during the poster session this year; however, all poster presenters must accompany their poster to answer questions from the Friedman Brain Institute membership. What is the Data Blitz? The top abstracts submitted by a student or postdoc will be selected to present a 5 minute Data Blitz during the afternoon or morning session. Data Blitz Competition: All Data Blitz presentations will be judged by the audience via an online polling app that is available to anyone at the retreat that has a mobile device. The top presentations will receive an award. *To qualify for Data Blitz, your abstract must be from unpublished data. I have been selected to give a talk, must I attend a practice/rehearsal with the retreat moderators? Yes, all speakers need to schedule a practice/rehearsal with Allison Waters and Drew Kiraly. What is the “Scavenger Hunt” game? This is a game that will be played throughout the day and is open for all. You will have to hunt for clues that will be scattered throughout the day. The first to figure out the outcome is the winner. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony and will receive a prize. What is the “Lunch Collaboration Challenge”? During lunch there will be assigned sitting by group. Each group will compete to win a challenge that will be introduced during lunch time. The winning group will be announced at the award ceremony and will receive a prize.
